There are a lot of great things about Google+. To sum it up in a few words...it is like Facebook & Twitter combined. Something else that really appeals to me is there is no advertising...at least not yet! 🙂
Enjoy your day,

This is my town. My wonderful town of Auburn, California. This scene is only a couple of miles from my house and occurs every winter. After years of dreaming about photographing it, I finally got over there and did it!
I just submitted this image on
Sugar Pine Reservoir last weekend. The day all lined up so well, once we got up there and found a quiet spot to call our own for the afternoon.
The few little black spots in the image (if you look really close) are actually bugs. I started cloning them out in Photoshop at first. After removing a few of them, I decided they could stay...for now anyway. When I get ready to upload it to our Photography Website, I will think again.
Thoughts anyone? Would you remove the bugs, or leave it "Au Natural?"

"Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime" ~ Author unknown
I have always loved that quote! This is one of the photos from my photo shoot at
panning photographs. Back then, I was shooting with the Nikon D70, so the lowest ISO I could use was 200. My shutter speed was set at 1/30 sec. and my aperture was f 16.
Panning is one of the techniques I use a lot when shooting action. If you would like to learn how to shoot action and adventure, I will be leading a Action & Adventure Photo Workshop nearby on May 1st. I'd love to have you join me. For information and to register, please click on the previous link.
SPECIAL - You can also organize your own group of 5-8 and one person gets to attend for FREE!
Comments or questions are always welcome!
Cheers,
Sherri
If you are into shooting action as I am, Auburn is a great place to do it. They don't call us the "Endurance Capital of the World" for nothing. People travel from all over the world to participate in several annual events held here each year, as we have some of the best multi-use trails in the country. Auburn is no longer just a stopping off point in route to Lake Tahoe and Reno. It is becoming a travel destination in it's own right!
I was on the hunt for mountain bikers the day I shot this photo, while hiking on the Stagecoach Trail. As a local, I know where the hot spots are for action. I was standing on top of a picnic table near the trails edge, ready for my first victim to come flying down the hill. I don't think she ever saw me, she was going so fast!
Because I was so close to the trail, I had to use my 28-7o mm zoom lens; not the 80-200 mm zoom lens I normally use for
Are you looking for something to do this spring in the Auburn area? This area offers tons of things to do, but here is one suggestion. Get your kayaks and rafts out and paddle the North Fork of the American River.
This fork of the American River is well-known for it's beautiful scenery and offers some of the best class IV and V whitewater rafting and kayaking in California!

Hi everyone!
As we approach Christmas, I wanted to share a photo I captured of Old Town Auburn last year, just after a low snowfall.
If you have never been to Old Town Auburn before, you should check it out, especially during the holiday season. There are a lot of really neat shops and the town is always decked out for the holidays!
I'm planning a trip to Old Town soon, to capture a few 2010 holiday photos to add to my collection. Maybe, we will see you there!
Keep warm & cozy, enjoy your holiday season and don't eat too many treats! 😉

We are spending an extra day down here in Bakersfield this year. There are so many things to see and photograph beyond Bakersfield, but we never have enough time to see them!
Yesterday, we drove to Red Rock Canyon State Park. We didn't have much time there, however, as we got sidetracked at Jawbone Canyon. Both places are really cool and we will definitely return to both of them in the future. The photo above is one of the images I captured during our scouting trip.
Thank you for stopping by and have a great Thanksgiving!

Bakersfield, California Gallery.
We will be traveling to and photographing Bakersfield and beyond again soon = more images will be added to this gallery in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.
Thank you for visiting!

Jeff and I are happy to announce that we have added a selection of Bakersfield images to our Website. To see them all, simply visit our new
Facebook Business Fan Page, but under a different name; not a name as good as "Transition!" That name was inspired by a comment one of my Fans made about this image. Thank you, Bob!
We have a great chance of getting snow this weekend, where we live in Auburn at the 1,600 foot level. You can bet, I will be out hunting for good things to capture in the snow if it does. We typically get a low snow in Auburn 1-3 times per year and it is a BIG deal to most of us!
We all ready for it. We have plenty of firewood for the wood stove, homemade soup, beer, love, great music and more!
I hope to have some images from the much talked about storm to share with you next week. Stay tuned!
Cheers,
~Sherri
Yesterday, I posted this image on my

Here is another Bakersfield (BAKO as the locals call it) image I am working on. Look for it in our new Bakersfield, California gallery coming later this week. 🙂
This is not an actual gallery that you can visit in Bakersfield. It will be added to our collection of galleries on our
