Rocky Raccoon

raccoon.jpg Photo - Raccoon visitor at our house, Auburn, CA This post doesn't really fit into the winter theme I was on. But, it does fit into a ongoing theme about things we observe in our own front yard, like a beautiful Sierra Sunrise, snowfall or a deer! [click to continue…]

Sierra Sunrise 2

by Sherri on December 13, 2007

sunrise-da.jpg Photo - Digital art photo of a Sierra Sunrise, Auburn, CA I have been having so much fun lately creating Digital Art photos, I decided to experiment with the Sierra Sunrise photo I posted a few days ago. I really like the way this turned out. Creating Digital Art photos has been a nice change from what I normally produce, which is travel, adventure and outdoor lifestyle images. I believe it's important to break the paradigm every now and then and create just for the fun of it!

Sierra Sunrise

by Sherri on December 10, 2007

sierra-sunrise.jpg Photo - Sierra Sunrise as seen from our deck, Auburn, CA Although this may not be the most spectacular sunrise I have ever seen, I didn't have to go very far to enjoy it! A few mornings ago, when I looked out our French Door, this beautiful sunrise is what I saw.  That's not a normal occurance for us, but now that winter is finally here, we will be experiencing a lot more of them!  I have gotten into the habit lately of looking out our French Door every morning, when it first starts getting light outside. I also keep my camera handy and ready, so I can take advantage of whatever might be in my field of view, such as the sunrise above and the deer in the photo I posted a few weeks ago.  Photo Tip - Keep your eyes wide-open and be prepared, because photo opportunities can be as close as your own front yard!

New Outdoor Lifestyle Images!

by Sherri on November 12, 2007

dawn-and-justice.jpg Photo - Dawn and Justice in rural Auburn, CA We have just added new Outdoor Lifestyle images to our galleries. You can check them out in our New Images Stock Photo Gallery.
etheral-webs.jpg Photo - "Etheral Webs" This is one of the first photos I took with my DSLR camera. I was hiking along the middle fork of the American River one fall day, when I came upon this most unusual nature scene. The spider webs were backlit and covered with dew, which gave them a very etheral look. That really caught my eye. The people I was hiking with never even noticed them, but they weren't hunting for photo ops either! This photo will be one of many new nature scenes available very soon as a fine art print. We are currently working on a Holiday 2007 Print Gallery, that should be finished within a couple of weeks.

Fall in the Foothills – Auburn, CA

by Sherri on November 5, 2007

oak-leaves2.jpg Photo - Digital art photo of leaves, titled "The Old and the New" I thought this assortment of leaves was interesting and quite a contrast. It is a mixture of Oak and Dogwood leaves that have fallen from their trees, combined with the new growth of spring.   We have been having unusually warm weather this fall. It has a lot of plants in our yard springing up already, such as the green violets in this photo.Â
