Sherri taking time out from her job, Canyon Creek, Lake Faucherie, CA
Most often, there aren’t many photos taken of the one taking the photos! But, thanks to my husband Jeff, he made sure that I was actually on this trip too.
Part of what I love so much about my job, is that I get to “wear many hats!” I get to be the photographer, the model, the teacher, the researcher, the planner, the editor, the writer and the list goes on. But, unfortunately, the percentage of time behind the camera is far less than the time spent in the office – for now anyway. Changes are coming in the near future!

Peg heading for the swimming hole at the upper falls, Lake Faucherie, CA
Mara was right! This hole had it all. Great access, large, flat rocks for lounging and beautiful scenery all around. Again, we had this place all to ourselves! I will be posting more photos of our adventures soon, so check back often!

Photo – Peg Challender and Mara Noelle hiking to the upper falls, Lake Faucherie, CA
Mara had checked out the swimming hole below the upper falls earlier in the day. She added that it was by far the best of the bunch to dip in. So later on, the 3 of us returned there for a little dipping and relaxation.

Photo – Peg Challender explores Canyon Creek, Lake Faucherie, CA
While some of the others in our group were doing a little skinny dipping, Peg explores Canyon Creek just below waterfall #2. She looks like a REI and Title Nine catalog model to me!

Photo – Hikers Peg Challender, Bill Stack and Dolly take a lunch break at Lake Faucherie Falls #2.
Now I know where the saying “Dog Tired†came from! Dolly was really living up to it. She had been hiking and boulder hopping for hours. When we returned to camp later in the day, she could hardly move. But, just like her Dad, Bill, she was a great sport!

This was a nice place to cool off on a hot, late summer day.

Photo – Peg Challender and Cocoa at waterfall #2, Lake Faucherie, CA
Peg and I hooked up with the rest of the group for lunch at the second waterfall. This is one of the best for dipping in. The access to the water is easy and the water is refreshing, but warm enough for a quick dip. The best part was having this pool all to ourselves. We hung out here for about 2 hours and never saw another person!

Photo – Peg Challender getting a 2nd glimpse of the first waterfall, Lake Faucherie, CA
Although this waterfall is drop dead gorgeous, it isn’t the best for taking a dip. Getting in and out of it would be very difficult. But, it sure makes for a great photo op! Follow along as the adventure continues. I will lead you to the waterfalls with the best swimming pools.

Photo - Peg Challender catches first glimpse of waterfall #1, Lake Faucherie, CA
This is the first waterfall in the series and one of the most impressive. Another shot of this waterfall can be seen here. It was taken last summer during my first trip here with my husband Jeff.
