photo of Joshua Trees I posted a few days ago. You might also like to see our brand new "Bakersfield & Beyond" Gallery.
Have a great weekend and be sure to come back to see more photos from our trip.

Joshua Trees (Yucca Brevifolia, as they are scientifically known) are really fun to photograph, I discovered on our recent trip to Southern California. They are a American plant, found only in the Southwestern United States.
Jeff & I were exploring Jawbone Canyon and came upon this cluster of Joshua Trees backlit and nearly silhouetted, by the sun hitting the mountain behind them.
I wanted to show a little more detail in the trees, which I did easily in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, by adding a little fill light. In case you missed this, here is another We are spending an extra day down here in Bakersfield this year. There are so many things to see and photograph beyond Bakersfield, but we never have enough time to see them!
Yesterday, we drove to Red Rock Canyon State Park. We didn't have much time there, however, as we got sidetracked at Jawbone Canyon. Both places are really cool and we will definitely return to both of them in the future. The photo above is one of the images I captured during our scouting trip.
Thank you for stopping by and have a great Thanksgiving!

Bakersfield, California Gallery.
We will be traveling to and photographing Bakersfield and beyond again soon = more images will be added to this gallery in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.
Thank you for visiting!

Jeff and I are happy to announce that we have added a selection of Bakersfield images to our Website. To see them all, simply visit our new
Facebook Business Fan Page, but under a different name; not a name as good as "Transition!" That name was inspired by a comment one of my Fans made about this image. Thank you, Bob!
We have a great chance of getting snow this weekend, where we live in Auburn at the 1,600 foot level. You can bet, I will be out hunting for good things to capture in the snow if it does. We typically get a low snow in Auburn 1-3 times per year and it is a BIG deal to most of us!
We all ready for it. We have plenty of firewood for the wood stove, homemade soup, beer, love, great music and more!
I hope to have some images from the much talked about storm to share with you next week. Stay tuned!
Cheers,
~Sherri
Yesterday, I posted this image on my

Here is another Bakersfield (BAKO as the locals call it) image I am working on. Look for it in our new Bakersfield, California gallery coming later this week. 🙂
This is not an actual gallery that you can visit in Bakersfield. It will be added to our collection of galleries on our
Beautiful Bakersfield to prove a point; that beauty and great subjects can be found anywhere!
So many people refer to Bakersfield as ugly, boring, hot, dry and stinky. If you hear anything positive, it is usually from someone who lives there. Stay tuned, as I share with you "Bakersfield Through My Eyes."
Thanks for visiting and be sure to check back soon!

This is one of the images that will be included in our new Bakersfield Gallery coming very soon! I am on a mission to capture images of
American River/Old Town Auburn Photo Tour & Workshop.
Here are a few tidbits about Auburn:
Auburn is awesome, especially in Autumn!
Join me this coming Sunday for an all day photo shoot down into the American River Canyon and in Old Town Auburn. See why Auburn is becoming more of a tourist destination and less of a place to just stop on the way to Lake Tahoe and Reno.
I love to share my town any chance I get and that is one reason why I am offering my - We have the oldest volunteer fire department in the West.
- We also have the tallest bridge in California.
- Parts of Phenomenon and XXX (among others) were filmed here.
- We are the "Endurance Capital of the World."
- And much more...

This is a closer up view of the magical Sierra Buttes mountain range in Sierra County. It was captured from Upper Sardine Lake, which is where I captured
