Lakes & Rivers
Lower North Fork of the American River, Auburn, California, as seen from our hike on the Western States Trail.
This photo of the American River was taken during our recent location scouting trip down in the American River Confluence area. Jeff and I had gone down there to see if anyone was rafting or kayaking the recently opened "Auburn Run." [click to continue…]

The famous and historic "No Hands Bridge," Auburn, California
While on a hike and location scouting trip recently down in the American River Canyon, I took this shot of the famous "No Hands Bridge." Â
I have photographed this bridge a few times, but not from this perspective. I really like the unique angle of view and the way the bridge is reflected in the American River.
This photo will be available in our Auburn Stock Photo Gallery soon, along with this photo of No Hands Bridge.

In case you haven't heard, California is on fire. In Northern California alone, an estimated 200,000 square miles have already burned. Most of the several hundred fires burning are due to the several thousand lightening strikes from earlier this week.
Peg Challender kayaking on Lake Clementine, Auburn, California
Peg and I had a great day of kayaking and photographing at Lake Clementine. This photo was shot on the way back to the car.
The light was going fast. We had to hustle to get back to the parking lot before sundown, or we would risk getting locked in for the night. [click to continue…]

In the post Pardon Our Dust I wrote a few days ago, I mentioned that we were in the midst of a huge project involving our Webite. At first glance, our Website looks the same as it did. But, if you go to our galleries, you will notice that our images are now on our own server, not PhotoShelter's.
Had we known how time and labor intensive this project would be, we may have taken another route. But, now, we are nearly done and we are very happy with the results. We still have some massaging to do, before we can safely say we're done. But, we should have that completed in a few more days.
We are looking forward to a little kayaking and hiking really soon!

The Blue Thunder story continues...
It's been 25 years since this photo was taken on our
Heading towards Utica Reservoir, Alpine County, California
Here is another shot of our Toyota Landcruiser FJ-40, Blue Thunder, doing what it does best - tackling hard to get to places!
As I mentioned in my last post, we will be selling Blue Thunder soon. Before we do, I wanted to post a few photos of our favorite off-road adventures we have enjoyed in it.
To get this shot, I stood up in the back and clinched on to the roll bar with one white knuckled hand, while shooting with the other. What I love about this photo is that it gives the viewer, YOU, the feeling that you are actually there.
More photos of Blue Thunder and some of our favorite locations such as Utica Reservoir, Blue Lake, Gold Lake and maybe even the famous Rubion Trail to come!

Blue Thunder has been a part of our family for 25 years. But, unfortunately, the time has come that we will be finding it a new home soon.
