Indian Creek, Taylorsville, California
Our first 3 nights were spent in Taylorsville, a little "Po Dunk" town in Plumas County, southeast of Lake Almanor.
We camped on 10 acres of private property with our friends, along beautiful Indian Creek. The photo above was taken right next to our campsite.
While we were there, we did a day trip to Lasen National Park. Now, we have moved on to McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park.
We hope to write again in a few days, but we have found out that Blogging while on the road is harder than we thought.

The photo of this horse doesn't really have anything to do with our travel plans, but I needed to "test drive" my new equiptment, before leaving on our 15-day road trip, which begins tomorrow.
Our travel/photo plans (subject to flexibility) are as follows:

State Parks, Lassen National Park, Lake Tahoe, hiking, kayaking, hot springs, scenics and much more.
We hope you will follow along with us during our travels. Since much of our trip will be off-the-beaten-path, we won't always have Internet access (Wifi). So we are not sure how often we will be able to post on our Photo Blog. We are hoping to keep you updated as to where we are and what we are doing every 2-3 days.

Donna Bussinger and her daughter, Maya.
This past weekend, I had a blast photographing my friend and Baby Boomer model, Donna and her 3 year old daughter, Maya.
For as long as I've known Donna (23 years), she has stayed in shape by putting fitness high on her priority list.
She was a Professional Raft Guide in Coloma, California, for more than a dozen years. She also runs, mountain bikes, gardens, hikes, snowshoes, cross-country skis and teaches high school physical education, to name just a few.
Donna recently added one more way to stay in shape to the long list of activities she participates in. She plays in the new family swimming pool with her daughter, Maya. I was amazed at how much exercise they got (see photo above), during the hour or so I was photographing them.
You can bet, Maya will stay in shape just like her Mom!

In my recent post "Exciting News," I mentioned my upcoming interview with Professional Photographer and Writer Richard Wong.

About the photo: This is another shot taken with my new 12-24mm super wide-angle Tokina lens.
While out for a morning walk recently, I did a little experimenting with my new super wide-angle lens. My goal was to shoot photos using a unique perspective, that would illustrate "walking for fitness."  For this one, I also left plenty of empty space on the left for text. I was very pleased with the results.
Out of the couple of dozen or so frames I took during this shoot, I will probably keep about 25% of them. This one was one of my favorites.

Wow! Our living room never looked so big! This was the first photo taken with my new super wide- angle lens. So far so good!
Jeff and I will be leaving soon on a "Road Trip," exploring and photographing new territory in Northeastern California and the Lake Tahoe Region.
I would have eventually purchased this lens along with my new Nikon D-300, but just before a trip like this seemed like the time to take the plunge. I have been experimenting with this lens and I'm loving it, but IÂ haven't really tried out the camera yet. That is on the agenda for this weekend.
After comparison shopping on the Internet, I found the best deals through B&H Photo in New York. Not only were their prices lower than anywhere else, their service was impeccable.
I will be writing more about our upcoming trip in a future post, as well as posting a photo or two taken on the D-300.

Lone duck at Ashford Park, Auburn, California
Every time Jeff, Cocoa (our dog) and I go to the Ashley Memorial Dog Park, we can't help but notice the lone resident duck, at nearby Ashford Park.
When he is not being fed by visitors of the park, you can usually find him on his own private island.

Put a new "spin" on an old subject, by using PhotoShop's "Radial Blur" filter. I set this one at #4.
