Abstract of frost covered grass in my neighbor's pasture.

What have ya' all been up to? I've been busy making plans for the new year and shooting lot's of abstracts. I am planning a series of new & exciting Workshops & Tours. I hope to have the information about them up on the Blog and Facebook in a few days. In the meantime, I'm going to spill the beans right now about the one that excites me the most. I will be offering at least one ABSTRACT PHOTO WORKSHOP. If you would like to learn how to create images like the one above, this workshop just might be for you! This workshop will take place in Auburn; probably mid February, or early March. If you are interested in joining me, please email me, or add it in the comments section below. You can also respond on Facebook, if you prefer. Hope to see you there! ~Sherri

The Foresthill Bridge (California's tallest bridge) stretches over the beautiful North Fork of the American River, Auburn, CA.

Auburn is awesome, especially in Autumn! Join me this coming Sunday for an all day photo shoot down into the American River Canyon and in Old Town Auburn. See why Auburn is becoming more of a tourist destination and less of a place to just stop on the way to Lake Tahoe and Reno. I love to share my town any chance I get and that is one reason why I am offering my American River/Old Town Auburn Photo Tour & Workshop. Here are a few tidbits about Auburn:
  1. We have the oldest volunteer fire department in the West.
  2. We also have the tallest bridge in California.
  3. Parts of Phenomenon and XXX (among others) were filmed here.
  4. We are the "Endurance Capital of the World."
  5. And much more...
I am offering this Photo Tour & Workshop at a sweet 2 for 1 price. For just $125.00, you and a friend (spouse, relative etc.) can enjoy a whole day with me (includes lunch), honing your photography skills and learning more about what makes Auburn so awesome! Hurry and book before it's too late. The deadline is this Wednesday! See more images of Auburn. Thanks for visiting! ~Sherri

Gold Lake Adventure & Fall Photo Tours

Gold-Lake-10

Sunrise on Gold Lake, Sierra County, California.

Have you been following me on Facebook? I seem to be a little more active there lately, than I am on this Blog. If you have, then you would know that Jeff & I just returned from another adventure in Northeastern California. We 4-wheeled in to the OHV campground at the back side of Gold Lake, one of our favorite off-the-beaten-path locations. Our friend, Jeff, came along too and he had never been 4-wheeling before! I hiked in to the campground with our dog, Cocoa, while spotting for the two Jeff's. Cocoa thought that was pretty cool! When we arrived, someone was camped in "our" favorite spot. We were really disappointed at first, but it didn't take us long to get over it. We found a better spot, one which was always occupied before. Oh boy, did we luck out. We ended up in a large campsite at the end of the campground. We had room for 5 or 6 tents and our own private beach for the boats! The campground was built with OHV Green Sticker funds and all of the sites had new tables, fire rings and some even had "Bear Boxes." The outhouse near our camp was a room with a view (no roof). It was great on starlit nights, but not so good when it rained! During our stay we kayaked, hiked, relaxed, told stories, ate great food, drank great beer and came home with lot's of new images! 🙂 I'm giving this trip a 10 out of 10! I guess the weather and water could have been a wee bit warmer. But, there are always trade-offs! If the weather was warmer, chances are the sky would have been boring. We would not have had the wonderful light shows we had = less photo opportunities! Fall Photo Tours & Workshops Coming Soon! I am really excited to announce that I will be leading several half & full day Fall Gold Country Photo Tours & Workshops, scheduled for October & November. Since there will not be much advance notice, they will be offered at a special "2 for 1" price. More information on this coming soon on this Blog, on Facebook and in our October Newsletter! As always, thanks for visiting and your comments and questions are greatly welcomed and appreciated! Happy Trails, Sherri
