Quarry Road Trail – Photo Workshop
Photographer, Kim Brown photographing the American River, Auburn State Recreation Area, Auburn, CA
What started out to be a day hike with a few friends this past weekend, turned into a informal photo workshop with our friend (and recently retired Photography Instructor at Placer High School in Auburn), Kim Brown.
There was originally going to be 6-7 of us on this hike, that Kim and I planned for Monday. Everyone bailed, except for Jeff, our dog, Cocoa, Kim and I.
That turned out just fine! We had the time of our life, documenting outdoor recreation and nature along the Quarry Road and Western States Trails. Had everyone showed up, we wouldn't have had that opportunity. Not everyone would have had the patience to wait "while we did our thing" as Jeff did. It took us nearly 3 hours to hike 3-miles, to our favorite lunch spot along the river.
Kim and I have basically the same cameras. Since, we neither one know all there is to know about them, we have fun experimenting and learning together. It was also interesting to learn how much she and I "see alike."
Now that Kim has more time on her hands (Ha Ha), IÂ look forward to many more photo shoots with her!
More photos of this day to come. So please check back soon!

it’s always fun to go shooting w/ other photogs you get along with. I don’t do that often enough but enjoy the company for sure.
I totally agree with you. Kim and I have had the pleasure of shooting together a few times. We always have a great time and learn from each other!
