Party in the Park IX

The Tosh Meets Marley Band, Regional Park, Auburn, California Despite scorching hot weather and ongoing technical problems, the Tosh Meets Marley Band put on one h**l of a show Friday night, at the Regional Park in Auburn. There was an estimated 3,000 party goers at this "Free" annual event, put on by the Auburn Recreation District (ARD).   For those of you that don't know, the Tosh Meets Marley Band features Junior Marvin (Lead Guitarist and Vocalist for Bob Marley and the Wailers) and George "Fully" Fullwood (Bassist for the Peter Tosh Band).   I am constantly amazed at the variety and quality of things to do and see in little "Podunk" Auburn. There is so much happening in Auburn alone, that sometimes it's hard to leave town!   Hoola Hoopers at the Party in the Park, Auburn, California I heard in the news this week that Hoola Hoops just turned 50. Maybe that's why there were so many of them at this event. These folks were making them out of PVC pipe and they were huge. Close up of the Tosh Meets Marley Band, Auburn, California Has anyone out there ever seen these guys? If not, you should if you get a chance. Reggae doesn't get any better than this!

That is quite a party Sherri. The hula hooping seems like a fun opportunity to get some “youth culture” shots.

It was indeed quite a party and a great photo op for youth culture shots.

I was mainly there to enjoy the music with friends, but for the first time in years, I decided to bring my camera along. I’m glad I did, even though it’s a little uncomfortable dancing with the camera around my neck!

Cool pics and kind words, sorry about the sound mess-ups, hopefully the show July 11 in Auburn at the Auburn Event Center will not have the same problems, I hope you all come!

Thanks a lot Scott for the comment and the heads up about the July 11th event! Also, we REALLY enjoyed the Wayback’s at the recent Party in the Park!
