Mountain Biking the Clementine Trail
Mountain biking the Clementine Trail, ASRA, Auburn, CA
Look close. There are actually 2 mountain bikers in the middle of this photo. I was hiking on the other side of the river when I shot this. I decided to travel light that day and left my long zoom lens behind. Unfortunately!Â
The Old Lake Clementine Road Trail is the #2 trail of the loop. I left out #3, which is a section of paved road and I don't have a shot of it.
This trail begins where the Auburn-Foresthill road crosses the North Fork of the American River. It parallels the North Fork of the American River for about 4-miles, before reaching Lake Clementine Road (#3 trail).
The section of the Clementine Trail in this photo is vary narrow, but most of it is fairly wide.
This trail also passes under the famous Foresthill Bridge and by several excellent swimming holes. The water is very warm during the summer months, but still cool enough to be refreshing for bikers, hikers and runners to cool off in.
