Well, it's raining cats and dogs again today. I had originally planned on going into Old Town, where the photo above was taken and shooting the town all dressed up for Christmas. But, I think I'll bag that idea and continue on with my holiday baking and gift making.
This year, Jeff and I are making photo notecards again, as we did last year. We are also trying something new. We are making photo magnets. That's been really fun and the results have been great!
Hopefully, this weekend I can get to Old Town for a little holiday shooting - photos that is! Who knows? Maybe there will be snow!

Hi Jeff & Sherri,
Bummer you are getting rain – rain in the winter is wasted precipitation – it could be beautiful snow! Sounds like you should have a great wildflowers this spring.
Not only do we live in Alaska, but we live in a spot that averages 12 feet of snow a winter, at least we used to. This year, not a even a dusting. Thanks a lot for the mention, and Happy Holidays!
Ron
that is a very nice shot Sherri. that old fire truck looks fascinating as well. i read that there were a few old historical chinese businesses in old town too. i wanted to check them out that one day but the antique fair put a monkeywrench in those plans. 🙁
Ron,
The rain stopped a couple hours after I wrote this post. The rest of the day was beautiful! We got a ton of snow in the high country from this series of storms. Tahoe is going to be hopping this weekend!
Most springs here are pretty good for wildflowers. But, if we get a few more rainfalls like we just had, we are pretty much guaranteed to have a great wildflower year.
Wow – 12 feet of snow a winter. I can’t fathom that. I would love to see a photo of that sometime.
Happy Holidays!
Sherri
Richard,
Thank you. Yes, there are lots of Chinese businesses in town, many of them are restaurants.
I guess you will just have to make another trip to the area!
Happy Holidays!
Sherri
