When we first spotted these Joshua Trees, they didn’t look all that great. The sun was still way too high in the sky. My goal was to locate the trees I wanted to shoot, then wait for the dramatic light. I knew there would be a great sunset, due to the amazing clouds in the sky.
We waited it out for about 30 minutes. Then, just like I had hoped for, the drama began. The sun came through the clouds and lit up my landscape beautifully.
I don’t know how long it will be before we can make a trip back to the desert (hopefully not too long), so I shot a dozen or so different compositions of these Joshua Trees. This is one of my favorites!
Questions or comments? I’m all ears!
See ya!

What do you like better “Desert Drama,” or “Drama in the Desert?” Typically, the shorter the better, but I need your help on this one.
Thank you!

We had both domains in late 90’s, early 2000’s, but somehow lost desertdrama.com in a hostile takeover. Desertdrama worked well for our email addresses and lists, and for quick references. We chose Drama in the Desert for the book title, though. I have a Google alert set up for my book title and that is how I saw your question. A lot of sports articles use Drama in the Desert these days, but when I titled my book there was nothing on the web using it. Hope that helps to answer your question. – Holly
Beautiful work, btw.
Thank you very much, Holly! 🙂
Wow, that is really cool. Thanks for sharing this information. I’ll have to check out your book!
