Chinese Coolie Statue
photo of a statue of Gold Miner, Claude Chana, created by local dentist Ken Fox.
The statue of the Chinese Coolie above was also created by Ken in 1972. The Coolie is 33 feet long, 22 feet tall and weighs 70 tons. You can view this statue at the old train station site and Chamber of Commerce. Directions: Auburn Chamber of Commerce, east of I-80 on Lincoln Way between Hwy 49 and Harrison Avenue.

Auburn is awesome. It is not only beautiful, but it is full of history and things to see and do. In my last post, I featured a Previous post: Top 10 Lightroom Tweets of the Week

Nice pic, Sherri. Haven’t seen you around much lately. You must be busy working on that marketing plan. Have a great day!
I had no idea about this Sherri. Had I known, I would have tried getting a photo last time I passed through Auburn. Thanks for sharing.
Carolyn – thank you! Yes, I’m working on the marketing plan, editing images, working on the Website/Blog, plans for my Photo Tours etc. I wish there were 2 of me – there is not enough time in the day, week, month and year!
Richard – I’m surprised you didn’t know about this statue already.
Sherrie, I have stood in front of this statue so many times, but never have I seen a more beautiful picture… Thanks for the smile
Thanks a lot Kerry. Have you seen the other statues in town created by Ken Fox? 😉
Good work! Capturing a snow photo *and* getting the sky so that neither look blown out is tough work! (For me, so far, at least!)
Thanks Erin. Yeah, it can be a bit challenging. This one was pretty easy to capture though, because the lighting was good, not harsh. 😉
