There are a lot of great things about Google+. To sum it up in a few words...it is like Facebook & Twitter combined. Something else that really appeals to me is there is no advertising...at least not yet! ๐
Enjoy your day,

This is my town. My wonderful town of Auburn, California. This scene is only a couple of miles from my house and occurs every winter. After years of dreaming about photographing it, I finally got over there and did it!
I just submitted this image on
https://plus.google.com/118122106764594800502/posts. After just two days on there, I will have to say, I'm very impressed with the way it works and the quality of content I've seen so far. Like everything else, there is a bit of a learning curve, but it's worth it!
Today on Google+ is #WomenWednesday and this image was submitted for it. There are currently several Themes for each day of the week. Apparently, the Themes are very popular. They are also fun and a great way to hone your photography skills!
I hope to see you there!
Cheers,

Surprise! I did something I thought I'd never do. I jumped on the Flickr bandwagon. I have nearly 100 photos uploaded now and a few sets. Here is my largest and most popular set;
Sugar Pine Reservoir last weekend. The day all lined up so well, once we got up there and found a quiet spot to call our own for the afternoon.
The few little black spots in the image (if you look really close) are actually bugs. I started cloning them out in Photoshop at first. After removing a few of them, I decided they could stay...for now anyway. When I get ready to upload it to our Photography Website, I will think again.
Thoughts anyone? Would you remove the bugs, or leave it "Au Natural?"

I don't usually post more than 1 photo in a blog post, but I wanted to show these 3 together because they were all taken at the same place and they are all "Water Abstracts!"
Abstracts are so fun to create and I love to teach others how to create them too! I've got an Abstract Photo Workshop comin' up really soon here in Auburn. Come join in on the fun!

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to put them in the comments section below. Also, if you would be interested in a photo tour to the Sierra Buttes later this summer or early fall, please send us an email to: sherri@sherrimeyer.com.

During our recent adventure to the Lakes Basin area, we didn't have very exciting skies for the most part. This photo of Gold Lake was captured during a lucky moment. I believe it was the only morning out of 4 with a sky like this!
See
Facebook Photography page.
Enjoy!

Wow...it pays to be prepared! This is the 2nd time this week, I have had the amazing opportunity to photograph this and another Buck that have been hanging around lately. I keep my long lens mounted on the camera and the camera bag handy for moments like this. I shot this through the glass on the French Door. It was either do that or go on the deck and most likely miss the photo opportunity altogether, due to my barking dog.
Here is another shot ofรย "Bucky" from my front yard photo shoot last Saturday. I love the way he just walked right into the "sweet" light, without me having to ask him! ๐
I love to get your feedback; either here or on my
Facebook Photography Page. I will be setting some dates soon for my upcoming Workshops, which will include the details to.
Thanks for visiting & be sure to check back soon!

This past Sunday, Jeff & I did a scouting trip to Prairie City OHV Park, in preparation for my upcoming "Action Shooting Photo Workshops." We met with a few models/friends who were more than happy to test the tracks and trails for me. Of course, Jeff was a model too!
This is a fantastic place to hone your action shooting skills. The two tracks we shot at were loops. That gave me many chances to capture photos of Jeff, Rich and 9 year old Belle. Although I have been shooting action for over 15 years, this is a new sport for me!
You can see more photos from this photo shoot/scouting trip on my
photos of the Historic Auburn Courthouse.
You can see more photos from this fun day on my Facebook Photography Page.

My Old Town Auburn/American River Photo Tour & Workshop this past Sunday was a blast! I got to spend several hours with two really neat women Martha & Diane, now known as the "Nikon Girls!"
We began our Tour in Old Town and our first stop was the iconic Auburn Courthouse. We photographed it from various angles, using a variety of lenses. For this photo, I added a Polarizer to further enhance the already brilliant blue sky; also to bring out the color of the exterior walls. Diane wanted to learn how to use her Polarizer, so this was theรย perfect opportunity.
The Auburn Courthouse is always a pleasure to photograph. See more
