A Day at the River Wrap-Up
Chips & Guacamole anyone?
We are back from a great trip to Bakersfield for Thanksgiving. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving too!
Before I post any photos from our trip down there, I want to wrap-up my series on "A Day at the River."
Chips, guacamole and/or salsa have become very common snacks for many Americans. I can't imagine packing a picnic lunch without them!
In my recent interview with photographer Richard Wong, I mentioned "food photography" as something I wanted to do, that I hadn't really tried yet.
When our friend Steve started serving up chips and guacamole, I thought I'd give it a try. It's not your typical food shot, but I kind of like it.
What do you think?

Hey Sherri. This is an interesting perspective. Definitely a new twist to food photography. I think the outdoor-look to this also says picnic. Maybe that is your niche. Picnicking and picnic foods.
Thank you Richard. That sounds good to me. Maybe I can just weave it into my lifestyle photography.
Beautiful series and I was particularly intrigued by the color of the water. Its pretty unique
Thanks Thomas. Yes, our water here is quite clear, unlike other parts of the country. It’s wonderful!
