While some of the others in our group were doing a little skinny dipping, Peg explores Canyon Creek just below waterfall #2. She looks like a REI and Title Nine catalog model to me!

Lunch Break at Lake Faucherie Falls #2

Now I know where the saying “Dog Tired” came from! Dolly was really living up to it. She had been hiking and boulder hopping for hours. When we returned to camp later in the day, she could hardly move. But, just like her Dad, Bill, she was a great sport!

Waterfall #2 – Lake Faucherie, California

Peg and I hooked up with the rest of the group for lunch at the second waterfall. This is one of the best for dipping in. The access to the water is easy and the water is refreshing, but warm enough for a quick dip. The best part was having this pool all to ourselves. We hung out here for about 2 hours and never saw another person!

Although this waterfall is drop dead gorgeous, it isn’t the best for taking a dip. Getting in and out of it would be very difficult. But, it sure makes for a great photo op! Follow along as the adventure continues. I will lead you to the waterfalls with the best swimming pools.

This is the first waterfall in the series and one of the most impressive. Another shot of this waterfall can be seen here. It was taken last summer during my first trip here with my husband Jeff.

In this photo, Peg and I are heading for the trailhead that takes you to the many waterfalls on Canyon Creek – the creek that flows into Lake Faucherie. Unless you scramble up the creek and count as you are doing so, it’s hard to know for sure how many waterfalls there are. According to what I have heard there are somewhere between 7-10. I have personally seen about 5-6 now and they are spectacular!

I will be posting several more photos from this trip, as well as a post on “how to paddle for pics.” Please check back daily.

Here is another photo of Peg, as we kayaked around Lake Faucherie. This has to be one of the prettiest lakes I’ve ever paddled on!

During our recent trip to Lake Faucherie, I kayaked around the entire lake, with my friend (and model), Peg.

This photo is one of a series of photos that will be added to our Kayaking Stock Photo Gallery in the coming weeks.
