Death Valley Nature Abstract – One of my favorite subjects to photograph when I’m not photographing people is nature close-ups. While Jeff & I were exploring Cottonwood Canyon in Death Valley National Park a couple years ago, I spotted this “Face in the desert.” I wasn’t leaving until I got a photo of it I was happy with. Of course, the original didn’t look this good. Using the amazing Adobe PhotoShop Lightroom 2 Photo Management Software, I was able to achieve the results you see here.
Do you see what I see? I see a face with one eye open and one eye closed. There is even a mouth. The nose is pretty deformed. I’d love to hear your opinions about this photo.

Hi Sherri. Just wondering if you are seeing a color shift or desaturation when loading up the LR2 processed images into Photoshop? I’m thinking that perhaps I should be on Photoshop 3 or 4 by now.
Richard – are you using the “save for Web and Devices” feature in PhotoShop? It’s located under “file.” Before we started using that, I was very disappointed with the color shift. Can’t remember if CS2 has that or not. I think we started using it when we upgraded to CS3.
If you are not using it, you are missing out on a great feature. If CS2 doesn’t have it, it might be time to upgrade. I’d go straight for CS4 if I were you. Unfortunately, it came out only about a week or so after we upgraded to CS3.
Hi Sherri. No. Actually when you load the TIF up on the browser. I’m thinking that perhaps the older version of Photoshop is less capable of reading the color profile.
